Uche Amaechi

Uche Amaechi was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. He is a passionate Public Servant who joined the OPS in 2015 and has worked in several ministries all the while developing a wide breadth of program delivery and policy development experience. Uche is currently a Strategic Advisor to the Deputy Minister of Treasury Board Secretariat and previously held the roles of Strategic Advisor to the Chief Talent Officer and Manager of Policy & Operations within the Office of the Secretary of Cabinet.

Uche is also verry passionate about creating equitable and inclusive work environments. To that end, he led and supported a series of workshops across the OPS on the importance of Allyship, is a Mentor in the Black Career Enhancement Program, and is an Executive Team Member of the Connect Ontario Professional Development Group which won Apolitical’s 2020 Global Public Service Team of the Year Award in the category of Championing Equality. Outside of the OPS, Uche is a board member of the Cecil Community Center, enjoys live music, and playing Tennis.
