Madalina Botan is a senior researcher and Associate Professor at the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration. Her work focuses on electoral studies, algorithmic propaganda, and policymaking, with current research on online disinformation and EU regulations, including the Code of Conduct on Disinformation and the Digital Services Act.
She is a member of the European Digital Media Observatory (EDMO), contributes to various HORIZON projects, serves on the Management Committees of EU COST actions dedicated to polarization and public opinion in the EU, and collaborates with national Digital Services Coordinators on platform regulations.
Prof. Botan has published extensively on media effects and political communication. Her latest co-authored book examines media diets and their influence on civic and political engagement.
