Lydia Miljan

Professor of Political Science, University of Windsor

Dr. Lydia Miljan is Professor of Political Science at the University of Windsor. She earned her Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Calgary, specializing in political communication. Since joining the University of Windsor in 2001, Dr. Miljan has made significant contributions to the field through her teaching and research. Her academic interests include Canadian public policy, research methodology, and the intersection of politics and media. Dr. Miljan has authored several influential books, including "Public Policy in Canada" and "Hidden Agendas: How Journalists Influence the News," the latter of which was shortlisted for the Donner Prize for the best book in public policy in 2003/04. In addition to her academic role, Dr. Miljan is a Senior Fellow at the Fraser Institute, where she previously directed the Alberta Policy Research Centre. Her research often explores the impact of media on public opinion and policy, with recent projects focusing on electoral reform, municipal policy, and the future of journalism in the digital age. Dr. Miljan's work is widely recognized for its depth and impact, making her a sought after political analyst for various Canadian and international news media.
