Knitting, a universal craft, becomes a site of resistance in Knitting Echoes, where fabric is stretched and reshaped by mechanical interventions, reflecting cultural resilience under technofascist pressures. The interplay of fiber and force mirrors democracy’s fragile yet adaptive nature—continuously reconfigured, never unraveled, as power shifts and identity negotiates its place within systems of control and liberation.

The works officially selected for the Counterbalance exhibition are presented in partnership with OCAD University and the Delegation of the European Union to Canada.
