Apathy is Boring is a non-partisan, charitable organization that supports and educates youth to be active and contributing citizens in Canada’s democracy. It was founded in 2004, when a choreographer, a filmmaker, and a fashion photographer met at a party. Troubled by how few of their friends were actively participating in Canada’s democracy, they started an online campaign to mobilize youth to vote during the 2004 federal election. 14 years later, Apathy is Boring works year round to support young people to take charge of the conditions that they live in.
As Research and Evaluations Manager, Samantha evaluates the impact of all programming and projects in addition to heading up all research initiatives within the organization. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Concordia University in Anthropology where she focused on the intersection of identity, politics and community. After completing her degree, she worked for several years in the private sector, primarily in marketing and data analysis as well as project management. At Apathy is Boring, she is happy to combine her love for data and impact analysis with her love for democracy and building capacity among diverse voices in the political sphere.
