Democracy According to Mackenzie Taylor
To educate both myself and those interested in the fundamental principles of democracy. It provided me with an opportunity to connect with others interested in similar topics – where I formed meaningful relationships.
I’ve always cared about democracy – but the importance of our democratic functions was amplified when I worked for the NB Human Rights Commission. Ensuring that all persons have access to the same rights and protections is one of the fundamental principles of democracy – and working with people whose rights have been challenged reaffirms the importance of protecting our institution and processes.
Anyone interested in government and organizations who protect/advocate from the ground up. People who want and/or demand change – but don’t know where to start.
