Lynette Ong is a professor of Political Science at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy, University of Toronto. A specialist of China, her research addresses authoritarianism, repression, contentious politics, and political economy of development. She has published in Comparative Politics, Perspectives on Politics, International Political Science Review, China Quarterly, Journal of Contemporary Asia, etc. Her writings have also appeared in Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, Washington Post, Globe and Mail, among others.
